Blink-182 post update on progress on their new album
Blink-182 are finally back in the studio and working on their new album, singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge has confirmed.
The pop-punk trio, who released their long-awaited comeback album Neighborhoods in the autumn of 2011, had initially said that they hoped to have their new album out for the summer of 2014, but it appears that work on the new record has only just begun.
Taking to Instagram, Delonge updated fans on the progress the band were making, he posted: "Rehearsals start today... And yes there will be a new album. Sorry for the wait."
The trio will head over to the UK next month to headline Reading and Leeds Festival as well as playing a string of other events and big gigs, including two shows at London's O2 Academy Brixton.
Co-frontman Mark Hoppus had previously said that the band were hoping to have their new album out by the time Reading and Leeds took place, but that now seems impossible. There's no word on whether they will debut any new songs on the tour either.
