Blues legend BB King dies aged 89
Legendary blues musician BB King has passed away at the age of 89.
The guitarist and singer passed away peacefully last night (May 14th) in Las Vegas, he had been ill for a number of months.
King, who was best known for songs like 'My Lucille', 'Sweet Little Angel' and 'Rock Me Baby', began performing in the 1940s and remain an active musician until his death.
He was awarded 15 Grammys during his career, the last of which came in 2009. He was also a member of both the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
King released 42 studio albums during his recording career, beginning in 1957 with Singin' The Blues and ending in 2008 with One Kind Favor. Until recently, he was still a touring musician and regularly performed over 100 concerts per year.
