David Cassidy dies aged 67
Singer David Cassidy has died at the age of 67.
The singer, who first found fame with The Partridge Family, was admitted to hospital last week after suffering the failure of multiple organs and died last night (November 21st).
His family issued a statement about his passing, writing: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”
Cassidy's career began with his role as Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family, a sitcom which aired from 1970 to 1974 about a family who formed a rock and roll band.
Off the back of the show's success, he launched a solo career that would see him go on to sell over 30 million records and have a number of hit singles, including 'How Can I Be Sure' and 'Cherish'.
