David Guetta to produce all the music for UEFA EURO 2016
French EDM superstar David Guetta is to write the official UEFA EURO 2016 song for next summer's tournament.
Guetta, who released his latest album Listen in late 2014 (you can preview and purchase that on the right-hand side of the page), will not only write and produce the tournament's official song, but will also create the musical identity for the entire tournament, composing the in-stadia audio, the music played when a goal is scored and tracks to accompany global broadcast sequences for the competition in France next summer.
The DJ will also perform at the opening ceremony and play a free concert at the Champ Mars in Paris on June 9th, the night before the tournament starts.
Speaking about the announcement, UEFA President Michel Platini said: "We wanted to work with David Guetta because he has proven throughout his career that he can create music which inspires people all around the world. David's music has great energy so we look forward to seeing and hearing him add to the spirit and atmosphere of the tournament."
Guetta himself added: "It is incredibly exciting ... to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country. Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this EURO the biggest and most memorable yet.".
The DJ will return to the UK next month to headline Wireless Festival.
