Dr Dre revealed as the world's highest paid musician

Dr Dre has been revealed as the highest paid musician in the world. 

According to Forbes, Dre earned $620 million between June 2013 and June 2014, making him far and away the highest earner in music. 

The vast majority of his income came from the sale of his Beats brand to Apple earlier this year. 

Beyoncé was second with total earnings of $115m, with The Eagles in third with $100m. Bon Jovi are in fourth with $82m, with Bruce Springsteen in fifth place with $81m.

The rest of the Top 10 was made up of Justin Bieber, One Direction, Paul McCartney, Calvin Harris and country singer Toby Keith. 

Forbes compile the list based on income from touring, recorded music, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other ventures. 


The Top 10 highest-paid musicians according to Forbes are as follows:

1. Dr Dre - $620m
2. Beyoncé - $115m
3. The Eagles - $100m
4. Bon Jovi - $82m
5. Bruce Springsteen - $81m
6. Justin Bieber - $80m
7. One Direction - $75m
8. Paul McCartney - $71m
9. Calvin Harris - $66m
10. Toby Keith - $65m
