Ed Sheeran, Years & Years, Wolf Alice among 2016 Ivor Novello Awards nominees
Ed Sheeran, Skepta, Years & Years and Wolf Alice are among the nominees for this year's Ivor Novello Awards.
The ceremony will take place on May 19th in London and set up in 1955 to recognise and celebrate the best of British and Irish songwriters and composers.
Sheeran, Wolf Alice and Jamie Lawson will all compete for the big award, which Best Song Musically and Lyrically, Sheeran is up for 'Bloodstream', Wolf Alice for 'Bros' and Jamie Lawson, who is also signed to Sheeran's label, for his megahit 'Wasn't Expecting That'.
Snakehips, Skepta and Roota Manuva will compete for Best Contemporary Song, while Jess Glynne, Years & Years and James Bay are in the running for the award for PRS For Music Most Performed Work.
The album of the year award will be a fight between Villagers, Gaz Coombes and Jamie xx.
Surprisingly Adele has failed to score a single nonination, but she could still win the special awards for Outstanding Song Collection and Songwriter Of The Year, which are presented at the ceremony.
