Faith No More to release new album Sol Invictus in May

Cult rockers Faith No More are to release their first new album in 18 years in May.

The band have titled their new album Sol Invictus and will release it on May 19th via their own imprint, Reclamation Records. It will be distributed by frontman Mike Patton's label, Ipecac Recordings.

The album will be preceded by a single titled 'Superhero' on March 17th. The track will be released on vinyl on March 17th and digitally on March 31st.

The California fivesome initially split up in 1998 after a 17-year career, but reunited in 2009 for a full reunion tour. They then split again in 2012, but reunited just over a year later and began work on what would become this album.

Faith No More have a full US tour scheduled for April and May and will then head to Europe for a summer full of festivals, including a slot at this year's Download Festival.
