Frank Ocean's father to sue Russell Simmons for $142m
Calvin Cooksey, father of singer Frank Ocean, is reportedly suing Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons for the sum of $142m. The lawsuit is reported to have been issued in response to a post on Simmons’ website Global Grind, which Cooksey claims inaccurately described him as a ‘deadbeat dad’.
The only evident mention of Cooksey on the website as of now is in a photo gallery of famous people who are suing their parents, a feature that seems to be about NBA star Kobe Bryant, so it’’s unclear exactly which post Cooksey is referring to.
Simmons, who co-founded Def Jam with producer Rick Rubin, has yet to issue a comment on the lawsuit.
