Green Day, Lou Reed, Joan Jett to be inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Green Day, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Lou Reed are among the artists who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
The artists will be inducted at a ceremony on April 18th next year in Cleveland's Public Hall. The other artists being inducted on the night are Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Bill Withers and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, while Ringo Starr will be given the Award For Musical Excellence and 1950s R&B group the "5" Royales will receive the Early Influence Award.
Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, War, The Marvelettes, The Spinners, N.W.A, Kraftwerk and Chic were also nominated for the Hall Of Fame, but have missed out this time.
To be eligible for entry, artists must have released their first album over 25 years ago, meaning that Green Day have been nominated at the earliest possible opportunity as their debut album 39/Smooth came out in 1989.
