Every day during January we’re going to be previewing the albums that are going to be hitting the shelves in 2015. Most will definitely come out, some probably will, and some we really hope finally see the light of day (we’re looking at you Adele…). Today we're previewing Rita Ora's second effort, will this emerge in 2015?

A little background…

If everything had gone smoothly, then Rita Ora’s second album would be sat on CD shelves across the country right now, just waiting for you to pick it up. But, as little known poet William Shakespeare once wrote the course of true love never did run smooth. What William failed to add however is make sure you’re extra careful if you’re in a relationship with a prominent EDM producer and who knows a thing or two about songwriting and publishing.

Basically this time last year Rita Ora and Calvin Harris were everybody’s favourite celebrity couple, they spent their time taking selfies in ludicrously exotic places and, more importantly, working on new music together. He wrote and produced a few tracks for her, including ‘I Will Never Let You Down’, the album’s planned lead-off single, and then they broke up, nastily if you believe the online reports. Harris then blocked Ora from performing the track at a series of planned awards shows, leaving her and her management little choice but to scrap the tracks he’d written and produced for her and start on some new ones…

What It's Called?

Not a clue. Her debut was called ORA, so she’ll probably have to think a little harder this time. Unless it’s called RITA…

What Will It Sound Like?

We don’t know if ‘I Will Never You Let Down’ will feature on the album, but either way, from the way Ora has talked in interviews, it doesn’t look like it’s too reflective of the rest of the sound. She’s talked up the album’s hip-hop and soul influences, a combination one of her collaborators has mastered…

Who's Producing It? Are There Any Big-Name Guests?

After Harris’s departure, Ora turned to two more big names, Diplo, he of Major Lazer fame - who has helped craft bangers for the likes of Madonna, Beyonce and No Doubt - and DJ Mustard, who’s worked with the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Tinashe and 2Chainz.

She’s also spent a week writing with Prince as well as a bit of time in the studio with Macklemore. Hopefully both will make it on to the album.

Will It Really Come Out This Year? And When?

After endless delays, she’s pretty much confirmed it’ll be ready for a summer release. A new single is due out in March.
