hmv's Next Big Thing... #173 Parcels
Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Australian good time boys Parcels...
Who Are They?
Originally formed in 2014 during their high school days in Byron Bay, Australia, Parcels consist of keyboard players Louie Swain and Patrick Hetherington, bassist Noah Hill, drummer Anatole "Toto" Serret and guitarist Jules Crommelin.
Now based in Berlin, the band signed to uber cool French dance label Kitsune in 2017 and managed to score quite a production coup for their debut single 'Overnight', with the one and only Daft Punk working with the band.
Now it's onwards to a full-length effort...
What Do They Sound Like?
Imagine Beach Boys covering Friendly Fires with Daft Punk (both sonically and literally) on production duties. That's Parcels.
Why Should I Be Excited?
Summer vibes, gorgeous melodies and a boatload of charm, Parcels have all that and more.
Can I Hear Something?
For sure, their fun-filled new single 'Tieduprightnow' is below for you.
