hmv's Next Big Thing... #179 Pllush

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you San Francisco dreamy types Pllush...

Who Are They?

Pllush hail from San Francisco and consist of co-vocalists/guitarists Karli Helm and Eva Treadway, bassist Sinclair Riley and drummer Dylan Lockey. A going concern since 2014, they've so far racked up tours with Ceremony, Ducktails, Sales and Creative Adult.

Now signed up with ultra cool Father/Daughter Records, who include Diet Cig, Happy Diving and Puppy on their roster, they release their debut album Stranger To The Pain on Friday (June 22nd).

What Do They Sound Like?

Take the sprawling guitars of Sonic Youth, the raw power of Sleater Kinney and the dreamy grooves of latter-day Hole, that's Pllush.

Why Should I Be Excited?

They produce feedback drenched hypnotic loveliness, it's wonderful to listen to.

Can I Hear Something?

For sure, you can check out 'Ortega' below and their debut album Stranger To The Pain here in hmv's online store.
