hmv's Next Big Thing... #183 Hopium

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Aussie dreamer Hopium...

Who Is He?

Hopium is Josh Hardy, an Australian by birth, but now based in London. He first came to prominence in 2014 when a sample from his track 'Dreamers' was front and centre in Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's megahit 'See You Again'. He's been steadily making tracks ever since and his latest, a collaboration with Benji Miller and ex-Klaxon Jamie Reynolds, is drawing rave reviews...

What Does He Sound Like?

This is dense soundscapes with dreamy vocals, imagine early Massive Attack working with Sigur Ros.

Why Should I Be Excited?

His singles are a spacey joy, we can't wait to hear what comes next.

Can I Hear Something?

His new single 'Sunglasses' is below for you to enjoy:
