hmv's Next Big Thing... #191 Stand Atlantic

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Aussie pop-punk trio Stand Atlantic...

Who Are They?

Formed in 2014, Stand Atlantic hail from Sydney and consist of vocalist/guitarist Bonnie Fraser, bassist David Potter and drummer Jonno Panichi.

After a couple of acclaimed EPs on local label Run Records and tours with New Found Glory, State Champs, As It Is and With Confidence, the band have now bagged a deal with Hopeless Records, home of Neck Deep and Taking Back Sunday.

Now it's onto their debut album...

What Do They Sound Like?

The trio's influences come from across pop-punk, you can hear Jimmy Eat World in their towering melodies, the power and pace of New Found Glory in their arrangements and energy and ferocity of early Paramore.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Glorious hooks, buzzsaw guitars and a vibrancy to everything they do, Stand Atlantic are a bright, bouncy revelation.

Can I Hear Something?

You can. Their new single 'Lavender Bones' is below for you, a little preview of their debut album Skinny Dipping, which is out in October:
