Who Is She?
Angie McMahon is a Melbourne native. Originally part of a nine-piece soul band called The Fabric, she went solo in 2013 and won plenty of admirers after she won a Telstra competition to support Bon Jovi.
In the years since, she's steadily gigged and collected songs for her debut album. That album Salt was released a few days and is now on shelves.
What Does She Sound Like?
Instrumentally, McMahon's style is pure slacker rock, think Courtney Barnett and classic Pavement, but vocally she's a lot more powerful, with Florence Welsh esque power and PJ Harvey style rawness.
