hmv's Next Big Thing... #243 The Blue Stones

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Canadian spacey types The Blue Stones...

Who Are They?

The Blue Stones are a twosome, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Tarek Jafar and drummer/vocalist Justin Tessier. They hail from Windsor, Ontario in Canada and have been a going concern since 2011.

Their debut album Black Holes was unveiled in the autumn of 2018 and they're currently tearing up Europe on an extensive tour.

What Do They Sound Like?

The pair's sound is built around driving percussion and squalling, spacey guitars. Think Royal Blood, Queens Of The Stone Age and more than a touch of their fellow Canadians Death From Above, with a little Led Zeppelin thrown in too.

Why Should I Be Excited?

Big riffs and grooves for days and days and days...

Can I Hear Something?

Absolutely. Their new single 'Shakin' Off The Rust' is below for you...
