hmv's Next Big Thing... #269 MICHELLE

Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you New York collective MICHELLE...

Who Are They?

MICHELLE consists of Charlie Kilgore, Julian Kaufman, Emma Lee, Layla Ku, Sofia D'Angelo and Jamee Lockard. Based in New York, the six work together with Kilgore and Kaufman providing the arrangements and Lee, Ku, D'Angelo and Lockard providing the goals.

Now signed to Transgressive in the UK, home of SOPHIE, Genaghr and Let's Eat Grandma, the group are looking to make a splash in the UK, whenever it's safe to do so...

What Do They Sound Like?

The group's sound is an elegant take on R&B and indie-pop. You can smatterings of Beach House, D'Angelo, Minnie Ripperton, Beck and lots, lots more.

Why Should I Be Excited?

This is light, breezy and totally irresistible pop. Perfect for the summer time.

Can I Hear Something?

Of course. Their new jam 'Sunrise' is below for you:
