hmv's Next Big Thing... #276 Mellah
Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you genre-melder Mellah...
Who Is He?
Mellah is Liam Ramsden, a South Londoner who worked as a carpenter before he pursued music. His carpentry was used for film and TV largely, but he's also put it to good use for his career. He built his garden studio in Peckham from scratch and has since loaned out to the likes of Nilufer Yanya and Mica Levi, and, in the past, he helped construct the much-loved and much-missed The NINES bar in Peckham.
Away from the world of woodwork, Ramsden has had several fine EPs, and is signed up with major label Sony, now working towards his debut album.

Can I Hear Something?
