hmv's Next Big Thing... #42 The Japanese House
Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you The 1975 approved electro whizz The Japanese House...
Who Is She?
The Japanese House is the moniker by which 19-year old Londoner Amber Bain chooses to go by. She's been making music for a little while now, but her career has really taken off in earnest when The 1975's Matt Healy and George Daniel came across her. She's now signed up to Dirty Hit, the same label as The 1975 and Wolf Alice and released a number of acclaimed EPs, the most recent of which was produced by Healy and Daniel.
Who Does She Sound Like?
Dreamy soundscapes, sweeping melodies and vocals with a touch of magic, image Bjork sitting on the top of Radiohead at their most epic.
Why Should I Be Excited?
The combination of Bain's lush vocals and her beautiful scenic soundscapes, it's just gorgeous.
Can I Hear Something?
Of course you can, her new single 'Clean' is below for you and the EP it's taken from is available to preview and purchase on the right-hand side of the page.
