hmv's Next Big Thing... #47 Muncie Girls
Every Wednesday we recommend a brand new artist who we think you're going to love. This week we bring you Exeter trio Muncie Girls...
Who Are They?
Muncie Girls hail from Exeter, take their names from the Coen Brothers' classic movie The Hudsucker Proxy and consist of singer/bassist Lande Hekt, drummer Luke Ellis and guitarist Dean McMullen. They formed in 2012, have gigged relentleslly and are now readying their debut album.
Who Do They Sound Like?
Lo-fi punk rock, but with big, catchy choruses. Throw Weezer, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Replacements, early Green Day, L7 and Sleater Kinney into a huge pan and you'd cook up something exactly like this.
Why Should I Be Excited?
Awesome slacker punk, great choruses and boundless energy, their debut album From Caplan To Belzie is due in March, you should be counting the days.
Can I Hear Something?
Sure! You can check out their new single 'Gas Mark 4' below and you can check out their early singles here in our digital store.
