Who Are They?
Little Matador are the brainchild of Nathan Connolly, guitarist in Snow Patrol, they're his quicker, thrashier, escape from his arena filling day-job. Along for the ride are Bell X1 drummer Paul Brennan, Gavin Fox, former bassist with Idlewild and Turn, Troy Stewart, a member of Tired Pony and The Windsor Player, and LaFaro guitarist Magee. They formed in 2012 and have been working on music together in snatches ever since.
Late last year they took their first major steps as a live band, supporting Queens Of The Stone and will took with Band Of Skulls in the coming months, all in support of their self-titled debut album, which is due out later this year.
Who Do They Sound Like?
This is raw, hearty rock n'roll, stripped of almost everything bar the absolute essentials. Think early Nirvana wrestling with The Cribs and you've got a fair idea of what we're dealing with.
Why Should I Be Excited?
