hmv tips for 2014… Luke Sital-Singh
Every day throughout January we're going to be introducing you to a new act who we think are going to everywhere in 2014. Today, we present Luke Sital-Singh, a singer-songwriter capable of warming the coldest of hearts.
Who Are They?
London native Luke Sital-Singh is a 25-year old singer-songwriter who's been building up a devoted fanbase for the last three years. Three EPs later and he's become one of most promising new artists in the UK.
Who Does He Sound Like?
As with lots of singer-songwriters, especially one's that rely like on their voice and little else to tell their stories, the comparisons are fairly obvious. You can hear plenty of Bon Iver in Sital-Singh's delicate verses, lots of Josh Ritter too, there's also a large splashing of Americana with Kurt Vile and Andrew Bird in there too.
That's not say he's a hack or a singer devoid of originality, there's plenty of that in how Sital-Singh arranges his songs and the beautiful poetry he spools over the top of his bare instrumentation.
Why Should I Be Excited?
Because Sital-Singh's songs are things of beauty and poise, you'll be falling asleep (in a good, relaxing way that is) to his debut album when it emerges later this year. He tours with Eliza And The Bear, Annie Eve and Farewell J.R as part of Communion Music's 'New Faces' tour in February next year.
Can I Hear Something?
You most certainly can, his recent single 'Nothing Stays The Same' is below for your listening pleasure. It's also available to buy here from hmvdigital.com.
