hmv Vinyl Week 2018 - Where I listen to Vinyl...
hmv's Vinyl Week is underway and we're spending the whole week celebrating all things vinyl. As part of our celebrations, we asked a group of musicians where their favourite place to listen to vinyl is, let's see what they told us...
Carlos Sevilla (Baywaves)
“I don’t have many options as I only have a turntable and it’s on my living room, so I always listen to vinyl there!”
Cathal Cully (Girls Names)
"At home, alone, uninterrupted in low light..."
Hannah Koppenburg (Hannie)
“There is a really small and amazing jazz bar in East London called Kansas Smitty's. I love going there and listening to old records with the guys from the bar. They always have something new to show me!”
Sanae Yamada (Vive Le Void/Moon Duo)
“In the little room where I work. I guess you could call it a study, but all my clothes, some synths, and a great deal of my personal things are in there as well. I have a gorgeous, refurbished 70’s hi-fi in there, and a fantastic blue rug with weird-looking flowers on it. I like to lie on the floor, play records and think.”
Joey Dosik
“My house is probably my favourite place to listen to vinyl because I know how mine sounds, and I can get as weird as I want while I listen.”
Alec Ounsworth (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah)
“Always at home, and usually with headphones on.”
Annie Wagstaff (Hannie)
“At my flat, that way I can listen to what I want to listen to instead of just what is on.”
