Iron Maiden's custom-designed headphones now available at hmv
Late last year, Iron Maiden and Japanese audio gear manufacturers Onkyo announced the result of a two-year collaboration to create a pair of headphones specifically designed for listening to rock music, spearheaded by the band's guitarist Steve Harris.
Well, now you can buy them right here at hmv! The brainchild of Harris and Onkyo engineer Mark Cheffins, the new headphones are designed to offer a more pristine frequency response across the mid-range and are the result of Harris' failure to find a pair on the market that would do justice to Iron Maiden's music.
Having perfected the speaker design, they then set about adorning the headphones in the trademark Iron Maiden style and the new headphones feature the band's mascot Eddie, hence the catchy 'ED-PHON3S' moniker.
