Lauryn Hill announces UK acoustic show
Singer, rapper and former Fugees member Lauryn Hill is to perform a one-off acoustic show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on July 15th. The controversial star has been performing a string of similar acoustic concerts in the U.S., with gigs in New York and Washington DC already under her belt.
Hill’s live shows have been somewhat erratic over the last few months and her last performance at Brixton Academy caused a bit of a Twitter storm thanks to some unpredictable behaviour from the former Fugees frontwoman. The singer also recently cancelled a proposed show in Israel when she was unable to book a corresponding show in Palestine.
Explaining the cancelation, Hill said: "I’ve wanted very much to bring our live performance to this part of the world, but also to be a presence supporting justice and peace. It is very important to me that my presence or message not be misconstrued, or a source of alienation to either my Israeli or my Palestinian fans."
Tickets for the Shepherd’s Bush show will be on sale from Wednesday July 1st.
