Liam Gallagher announces Beady Eye have split up
Liam Gallagher has announced that his band Beady Eye have split up.
Gallagher took to Twitter earlier today (October 25th) to announce the split, writing:
Beady Eye are no longer. Thanks for all your support. LGx— Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) October 25, 2014
The band, who were formed in the wake of Oasis's split, released two albums, 2011's Different Gear, Still Speeding and 2013's BE. They consisted of Gallagher, guitarists Gem Archer and Andy Bell, and drummer Chris Sharrock, all former members of Oasis. They were joined in 2013 by former Kasabian guitarist Jay Mehler.
Beady Eye's split is sure to intensify rumours of an Oasis reunion, but with the recent announcement of the release of Noel Gallagher's second solo album, that seems like a remote possibility, at least in the short term.
