Little Mix's Confetti - What You Need To Know
The all-conquering girl group return with a brand new collection, here is everything you need to know about it...
A little background…
The last two years have been jam-packed for Little Mix. First, just before the release of 2018's LM5, they've left their longtime home under Simon Cowell's SyCo imprint and moved into neighbouring label, RCA.
As well as constant touring in support of the album, the band have drip-fed fans with new material throughout that time, releasing single 'Bounce Back' and a Christmas single, 'One I've Been Missing'
In 2020, despite the world shutting down, they've kept busy, filming Little Mix The Search, a reality show looking to find a new group to support them on tour next year (fingers crossed). Somewhere, in that time, they've found time to record this new album...
Who’s producing it?
As you'd expect, there's some serious production and writing muscle on this new LP.
Camille Purcell, who helped the group pen 'Black Magic' and 'Shout-Out To My Ex' in the past, is on four tracks. Superstar team TMS are back and feature on two tracks.
Soulful crooner MNEK is on two tracks, while the group have also collaborated with rising stars Oak Felder and Peter Rycroft, better known as LostBoy.
Any special guests?
Not this time. Though that's not to say we won't get a cheeky re-imagining later down the line, as they've done in the past.
What does it sound like?
Little Mix have well and truly found their groove on their last two LPs and continue in this vein on Confetti. It's an album of anthemic, confident pop, blended influences of '90s, Aaliyah-esque R&B, with stomping shimmery electronica. Even the ballads, like 'Nothing But My Feelings', are driven by a vibrant energy.
Does it deliver?
Absolutely. It's another strong album of glitzy anthemic pop and another collection of bangers for their stadium tour next summer.
