Madonna to perform at this month's Brit Awards
Madonna has been added to the list of performers for the Brit Awards, which take place later this month.
The singer, who will release her new album Rebel Heart next month, announced the news on her social media profiles this morning, tweeting the below:
The singer joins Take That, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Royal Blood, George Ezra and Paloma Faith, who have all been confirmed to perform at the ceremony.
The awards ceremony will take place on February 25th at London's O2 Arena, with Ant and Dec acting as hosts this year.
Sam Smith is nominated for five awards, with Ed Sheeran and George Ezra up for four. This includes Best British Male Solo Artist, where Smith faces off against Damon Albarn, Paolo Nutini as well as both Sheeran and Ezra.
All three will do battle for British Album Of The Year, where they are also up against Royal Blood and Alt-J. They are also each nominated for British Single Of The Year, where they face competition from Calvin Harris, Clean Bandit, Duke Dumont, Ella Henderson, Mark Ronson, Route 94 and Sigma.
Smith and Ezra are also nominated for British Breakthrough Act where they will do battle with Chvrches, FKA Twigs and Royal Blood.
Rock duo Royal Blood have three nominations in all, including one for Best British Group, where they face competition from Alt-J, Clean Bandit, Coldplay and One Direction, while Ella Henderson and FKA Twigs have two nominations each, including Best British Female Solo Artist, where they will face off against Jessie Ware, Lily Allen and Paloma Faith.
In the international categories, Taylor Swift will be the hot favourite for Best International Female Solo Artist, she faces competition from Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Sia and St Vincent. In the male category, Pharrell Williams has his solitary nomination, facing off against Hozier, Beck, Jack White and John Legend.
5 Seconds Of Summer are also nominated for Best International Group, a category which also includes nods for Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, First Aid Kit and The War On Drugs, while James Bay is already confirmed to take home the Critic's Choice on the night.
The winner of British Artist Video Of The Year will be decided on the night by a vote live on social media. Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Duke Dumont, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, One Direction, Rita Ora, Route 94, Sam Smith and Sigma are all nominated.
