Members of The Jam to stage concert to mark end of exhibition
If you've been lucky enough to visit the Cunard Building in Liverpool over the last few weeks, you'll no doubt be aware of About The Young Idea, an exhibition exploring the music, background social/political impact of The Jam.
The exhibition, co-curated by Paul Weller's sister Nicky and opened to the public in June this year, has included an impressive array of fan memorabilia and items from the band's own private archive, as well as interactive elements allowing visitors to use their smartphones to access extra content.
To mark the close of the exhibition next month, a special concert has been announced at Liverpool's Echo Arena on October 5th that will include performances from drummer Rick Buckler and bassist Bruce Foxton playing alongside The Songbook Collective, which also features members of Paul Weller's band, including former Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Craddock. A host of special guests are also expected to perform at the concert next month.
Some of the proceeds of the concert will be donated to local charities including Be One Percent and Impact Engand.
Tickets are available from the Echo Arena's online box office
