Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Noel Gallagher among nominees for Mercury Music Prize 2018

Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine and Noel Gallagher are among the nominees for the 2018 Mercury Music Prize. 

The trio lead the 12-strong shortlist for the prize, which also Jorja Smith, Everything Everything and Novelist. 

Lily Allen is nominated for her new LP No Shame, while XL Records mainman Richard Russell is also nominated for his project Everything Is Recorded. 

King Krule, Nadine Shah, Wolf Alice and jazz collective Sons Of Kemet round out the shortlist. 

The prize will be presented at a ceremony at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on Thursday 20th September.

Many of the nominated acts will perform on the night and there will be live television and radio coverage of the event on BBC Four and BBC Radio 6 Music.
