Laura Marling, Dua Lipa, Kano nominated for 2020 Mercury Prize

Laura Marling, Dua Lipa and Kano are among the nominees for this year's Mercury Music Prize. 

The trio lead the 12-strong shortlist for the prize, which also includes Sports Team, Anna Meredith, Michael Kiwanuka and Stormzy. 

Porridge Radio, Moses Boyd, Charli XCX, Georgia and Lanterns On The Lake round out the shortlist. 

The prize will be presented at a ceremony at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith on Thursday 10th September.

The event will celebrate the twelve shortlisted artists and their albums, with BBC Music providing live television and radio coverage of the event.

The judging panel for this year's prize includes Anna Calvi, Annie Mac, Supergrass's Gaz Coombes, DJ Gemma Cairney, Jamie Cullum and journalist Tshepo Mokoena. 

The prize, which is in its 28th year, was picked up by rapper Dave for his album Psychodrama in 2019.
