Michael Bublé’s Nobody But Me - What You Need To Know
Michael Bublé releases his ninth studio album Nobody But Me today (you can preview and purchase it on the right-hand side of the page) and here is everything you need to know about it...
What’s The Background?
It’s been three years since Bublé unveiled the hugely successful To Be Loved, but that’s because he was still touring it well into 2015, a tour that grossed over $173 million and included a whopping 12 nights at London’s O2 Arena. He’s spent the next year working on this album and his own fragrance, which was launched over the summer...
Who’s Producing It?
Alan Chang, who has been Bublé’s partner in crime for many years, is on almost every track. There’s also production and songwriting assistance from Johan Carlsson and Jason Goldman.
Any Special Guests?
Two. First up is Black Thought, one of the mainmen from hip-hop supergroup The Roots, he helps out on the album’s title track. Second is Meghan Trainor, who brings her sassy swagger to ‘Someday’, a track she penned with Harry Styles of all people.
What Does It Sound Like?
This album sees Bublé taking on nine covers and three new ones. Among the covers are a gentle version of The Beach Boys’ classic ‘God Only Knows’, swing hit ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’, Matt Monro’s ‘My Kind Of Girl’ and swing standard ‘The Very Thought Of You’.
The originals are his duet with Trainor, the album’s jaunty title track and big piano ballad ‘I Believe In You’.
Does It Deliver?
Absolutely, it’s slick, perfectly produced and shows off Bublé’s vocals wonderfully. Expect him to be everywhere this Christmas.
