Muse are to headline Bestival, Matt Bellamy reveals
Muse are to headline this summer's Bestival, frontman Matt Bellamy has revealed.
The band are due to release their new album Drones in June and are already confirmed to headline this summer's Download Festival, but Bellamy has revealed that the band will also top the bill at Bestival.
Speaking at, of all places, the Snooker World Championship, Bellamy said when asked what the band were up to: "Getting ready for a big tour, just getting warmed up now, doing all the interviews and stuff to promote the album and everything. We're doing Download Festival, which is like the metal festival, and Bestival in Isle of Wight later in the year, and next year we'll do our own tour obviously."
Drones will be released on June 8th and has been produced by Robert 'Mutt' Lange, who is best known for producing Def Leppard's Hysteria and AC/DC's Back In Black and Highway To Hell. The album is the follow-up to the band's 2012 LP The 2nd Law (which you can preview on the right-hand side of the page).
Bestival will take place from September 10th to September 13th at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle Of Wight, with the Chemical Brothers, Charli XCX, Duran Duran, Jungle, Tame Impala, Future Islands and Little Dragon already confirmed to perform.
