Muse sell over 70,000 to score a Number One album with Drones

Muse went straight to the top of the UK album chart last night (June 14th) with their new album Drones.

The Devon trio's seventh studio album (which you can preview and purchase on the right-hand side of the page) sold over 73,000 copies in its first week to take the top spot from Florence + The Machine. It is the band's fifth Number One album of their career and their fifth chart topper in succession.

Florence + The Machine fell to Number Two with their new album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, with Collabro down to Number Three with Act Two, Ed Sheeran at Number Four and Sam Smith at Number Five.

Leftfield's new album Alternative Light Source entered the chart at Number Six, with The Rolling Stones' re-issued classic Sticky Fingers in at Number Seven and Of Monsters & Men new at Number 10 with Beneath The Skin, Taylor Swift and Mumford & Sons made the rest of the Top 10.

Franz Ferdinand and Sparks' joint album FFS was new at Number 17, while Young Guns charted at Number 21 with Ones And Zeroes.
