My Record Collection by Ed Drewett

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of singer-songwriter Ed Drewett...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"I can’t remember the first single I bought, funnily enough. I used to buy a new one every week if I’d saved up. But the first record ever bought for me was Charles & Eddie's ‘Would I Lie To You’. A present from Ma & Pa. I was about 5!!!"

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"There were loads. It was a joint effort!"

The record I've played more than any other is…

Aerosmith's ‘Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’

The record that always makes me feel good is…

"Rod Stewart's ‘Motown Song’. What a chorus!"

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"When I was a teenager a good Westlife ballad made me indulge in a break up (sensitive guy). Now, anything Coldplay. ‘Fix You’ does anything but fix me!!"

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"Anything I wrote, haha."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"ELO Very Best Of."

The record with my favourite title is…

"Toy Dolls ‘I Caught It From Camilla’."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"How long have you got...?"

The last record I bought was…

"The last records I bought that I still listen to are anything Eagles or Police!"

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2018 is…

"Just decent songs!"

The greatest record of all time is…

"Aerosmith ‘Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’...again"
