My Record Collection by Louisa Johnson

In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of Louisa Johnson, now simply known as Louisa, let's see what she picks out...

The first record I ever bought with my own money was…

"This is Whitney Houston's Greatest Collection. Her voice is just something else and she was always a vocal inspiration when I was growing up."

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"Again, it's Whitney Houston. Specifically, 'I will always love you’ as it was the first song I ever sang properly."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"Anything by Rihanna, her music is always so consistent and I could listen to her voice all day."

The record that always makes me feel good is…

"Natasha Beddingfield's 'Unwritten’, I love the lyrics in this song, they really resonate with me and make me feel good about myself when I haven’t had the best day."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"Destiny's Child's Survivor. It is such a motivational song and always manages to get me in a good mood when I’m not feeling 100%."

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"Jordin Sparks' 'One Step At A Time’. I just love that song. It has such a feel-good vibe about it."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"I think my new record with Kream & Eden Prince has pretty amazing artwork."

The record with my favourite title is…

"Destiny's Child again. Got to be 'Bootylicious'. It speaks for itself..."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen. I definitely overplayed this when I was younger, but it was a great track at the time..."

The last record I bought was…

"This was Young T & Bugsey's 'Strike A Pose'."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2019 is…

"Can’t wait to hear the rest of Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaboration Project, especially if the standards the same as the first two songs he released from it."

The greatest record of all time is…

"This is the hardest question ever but my personal favourite is Westlife's World Of Our Own'. I never get bored of it."
