New Oasis documentary from Amy filmmakers gets title and release date
The much-anticipated new Oasis documentary has been given a title and release date.
The movie, which is to be titled Supersonic, will hit UK cinemas this October. You can see the film's first official poster below:
Supersonic has been put together by Asif Kapadia and producer James Gay Reese, the partnership behind hugely acclaimed Amy Winehouse documentary Amy.
Kapadia and Gay Reese have worked on the documentary alongside director Mat Whitecross, the man behind the camera on Stone Roses' movie Spike Island and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, the Ian Dury biopic.
The report states that the film will chart Oasis's journey from their raw beginnings in Manchester in 1991 right up until their acrimonious split in 2009, with filmmakers getting unprecedented access to band members and archive footage.
Speaking about the movie, Noel Gallagher said: "The love and the vibe and the passion and the rage and the joy that are coming from the crowd, if anything, that’s what Oasis was."
Liam Gallagher added: "Great to look at, great to drive and it will fucking spin out of control every now and again when you go too fast. I loved every minute of it."
