Best Albums of November 2020: hmv.com previews the top 10...

AC/DC, Paloma Faith, McFly and The Cribs are among the artists with new albums hitting shelves in November...

AC/DC - POWER UP

Out November 13th

Pre-Order Here.

The iconic rockers release the 17th studio album of their career in the middle of next month.

Produced by Brendan O'Brien, who has overseen the band's past two records, the album was recorded in Vancouver.

The album is the band's first since 2014's Rock Or Bust and it marks the return of vocalist Brian Johnson, drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams, all of whom left AC/DC before, during, or after the accompanying tour in support of Rock Or Bust.

Tragically, it is band's first album since the death of guitarist Malcolm Young, the LP has been made in tribute to him.

The songs, which are all written by the sadly departed Young and his younger brother Angus, come from an extensive catalogue of unreleased songs, most of which were written in the sessions for 2008's Black Ice.

As you can hear on new single 'A Shot In The Dark', the band had left some bangers behind...

Little Mix - Confetti

Out November 6th

Pre-Order Here.

The pop foursome release their sixth album at the start of next month, their first since their move from Simon Cowell's SyCo to Sony imprint RCA.

The LP will feature hit singles 'Break-Up Song' and 'Holiday', with MNEK and hitmaker supreme Camille Purcell among their collaborators

McFly - Young Dumb Thrills

Out November 13th

Pre-Order Here.

The pop-punk foursome release their sixth album and their first new LP in more than a decade.

Produced by A frontman Jason Perry as well as co-frontman Danny Jones, the album features guest appearances from Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and gnarly indie type Rat Boy.

The album, which is the band's first for new label BMG, heralds a return to a rawer, more organic sonic, with songs composed in the studio as they were recorded.

Kylie Minogue - Disco

Out November 6th

Pre-Order Here.

After 2018's country-influenced LP Golden, the singer returns with a change in direction and a love letter to classic disco.

Written and recorded largely over Zoom, with Minogue recording at home, the album features production assistance from hitmaking team BiffCo and Fiona Bevan, who helped Ed Sheeran write monster hit 'Little Things' for One Direction.

The Cribs - Night Network

Out November 13th

Pre-Order Here.

The Wakefield power-pop trio return with their eighth studio album, their first since 2017's 24-7 Rock Star S**t.

Though self-producing for the first time, the album was recorded at the Foo Fighters Studio 606 in Los Angeles in the spring of 2019, with engineer James Brown and frequent collaborator John O’Mahony.

Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo guests on the album, which is the band's first since the end of a legal fight with their former management.

Paloma Faith - Infinite Things

Out November 13th

Pre-Order Here.

The singer follows up 2017's The Architect with a brand new collection, her fifth album of her career to date.

Self-engineered, amid the lockdown, the album features production from Bastille key man Mark Crew and former Ben's Brother singer Jamie Hartman.

Writers on the record include MNEK, former Chairlift man Patrick Wimberly, Ed Harcourt, Josef Salvat and Sigrid, who has penned the only track on the album not co-written by Faith herself.

YUNGBLUD - Weird!

Out November 13th

Pre-Order Here.

The hyper-active pop-rocker unveils his second full-length effort in the middle of next month.

Among the collaborators are the singer's frequent co-writer Matt Schwartz and Zakk Cervini, whose credits include All Time Low and Black Veil Brides.

Billed as both an intensely personal and outward-looking record, the album finds the singer in a rich vein of form.

Smashing Pumpkins - CYR

Out November 27th

Pre-Order Here.

The sequel to 2018's Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. arrives at the end of November. This time with a far simpler title...

Unlike the first instalment, this time frontman Billy Corgan self-produces, and he's spared no expense, with the album coming in at a meaty 20 tracks and 72 minutes in length.

It is the band's first double album since 1995's iconic Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

Gary Barlow - Music Played By Humans

Out November 27th

Pre-Order Here.

The Take That mainman releases his first solo album in seven years.

Recorded with an 80-piece orchestra, the album sees Barlow collaborate with Michael Buble, Colombian singer Sebastian Yatra, Beverley Knight, Alesha Dixon, James Corden, Chilly Gonzales, Ibrahim Maalouf, Barry Manilow and Avishai Cohen.

Billed by Barlow as a "very positive" collection, the album arrives at end of November.

Jamie Cullum - The Pianoman At Christmas

Out November 20th

Pre-Order Here.

The jazz man returns with a new festive collection.

Recorded over five days at Abbey Road Studios, with producer Greg Wells, best known for his work on The Greatest Showman, the album features 10 new tracks from Cullum, all with a yuletide tinge.
