Queens of the Stone Age announce they are ‘taking a break’
Josh Homme’s outstanding rock outfit last released an album in 2013
In what will come as disappointing news to fans of Queens of the Stone Age, the band’s bassist Michael Shuman has revealed that the rockers are “taking a break” from the band.
In an interview with Gigwise, Shuman said: “There will be future stuff with Queens, we’re just taking a break since we had a long, long two years of touring. We’ll take a break to do other stuff.”
The band’s most recent album was 2013’s …Like Clockwork, an album which featured collaborations with the likes of Elton John and Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears.
Shuman also revealed that QOTSA considered recording a follow-up to …Like Clockwork immediately after its release but decided against it because they’d “been going so hard for so long and we really worked on that record for a long time.
“It’s not like we’re sick of each other and don’t want to do it”, Shuman explained. “It’s just better to step back for a second and come back once the world has had a little bit of a break from you.”
