Quirky trailer for Edgar Wright's new documentary The Sparks Brothers unveiled

A first trailer for The Sparks Brothers, the new feature-length documentary from director Edgar Wright, has been unveiled. Click below to watch it:

Sparks released their debut album Halfnelson - which was also the group's name initially - in 1971 before re-releasing the LP in 197 under the name Sparks, changing the name of the group to match.

Since then the pair have gone on to release over 20 studio albums and pen hit singles like 'This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us' and 'The Number One Song in Heaven'.

The documentary will chart the pair's career with a mix of interviews and animation as well as contributions from other musicians who cite Sparks as a key influence.

Among the contributors to the documentary are Red Hot Chilli Peppers' bassist Flea, New Order, Weird Al Yankovic, Jack Antonoff, Beck, Duran Duran, Giorgio Moroder, Patton Oswalt, Jason Schwartzman, Adam Buxton, Neil Gaiman, and Mike Myers.

The Sparks Brothers will be released into UK cinemas on July 30th. You can check out Sparks' back catalogue here in hmv's online store.
