Rapper Gucci Mane sentenced to three years in prison
Rapper Gucci Mane has been sentenced to over three years in prison after pleading guilty to firearms charges.
Mane, whose real is Radric Davis, was told by a federal judge that he must serve 39 months in prison and was informed that he may have to limit his travelling to perform for three years after he serves his sentence.
Mane had pleased guilty in May of this year to charges of�possessing a firearm while a convicted felon, he has already served 11 months in prison, so will now serve a further 28 month, reports The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The sentenced was reduced after Mane's representatives came to a deal with prosecutors, had the case gone to trial, Mane could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
The rappers' lawyers also asked District Judge Steve Jones to recommend that the Bureau of Prisons put the rapper in a drug program and to place him in a facility on the West Coast, away from negative influences he has in Atlanta, his home city.
The judge also made it clear that while on probation after he is released from prison, Mane will be allowed to leave the Northern District of Georgia for no more than seven days a month unless he has his probation officer’s permission.
The rapper was previously convicted in 2011 on battery charges and also back in 2005 for aggravated assault.
Mane's last studio album Gucci Vs Guwop was released earlier this year, it has his third studio album to be released this year.
