Slipknot will headline next summer's Download Festival.
The Iowa metallers, who have just released their long-awaited fifth album .5: The Gray Chapter (which you can preview on the right of the page), will headline the festival's opening night on June 12th next summer.
Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch and Black Stone Cherry are also confirmed for the same day at the festival. Judas Priest and Five Finger Death Punch will play under Slipknot on the Main Stage, with Black Stone Cherry headlining the second stage.
Organiser Andy Copping also confirmed that more bands will announced for the festival tomorrow, tweeting:
Download Festival will take place from June 12th to June 14th in 2015. The festival was headlined in 2014 by Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Aerosmith, with Bring Me The Horizon, Alter Bridge, Fall Out Boy, Within Temptation and Rob Zombie also playing major sets across the weekend.
