Stacey Solomon’s Shy: What You Need To Know
What’s the background?
It’s been six years since British singer Stacey Solomon burst onto our X Factor screens in 2009 and stole our hearts away not only with her voice but also with her lovely Essex girl sense of humour and infectious laugh.
Since then Stacey attracted a great deal of other TV opportunities such as co-hosting The Love Machine, judging ITV2's Top Dog Model, appearing on Channel 4’s extreme sports show The Jump and winning I’m A Celeb in 2010.
Now the mum-of-two from Dagenham is set to release her long-awaited debut album, Shy, this month. It’s an 11-track collection, mostly written by Solomon.
Speaking on her music, Stacey said: “I’ve had the opportunity to do some amazing things over the past few years, and I’m so grateful, but first and foremost I’m a singer.
“This album may have been a long time coming but I love it! Making this album the best it can be has been hard work but so rewarding; I can’t wait for people to hear it. I’m so proud of it.”
Any special guests?
A couple. Her first single released last month - with the same name as the album – was written by Rita Ora. And as well as Ora, Lily Allen has also contributed to the album.
Does it deliver?
Of course it does, she’s a worthy contender of delivering. Did you not see 19-year-old Stacey (now 25) on The X Factor all those years ago? She was spectacular.
