by Torche

Released on Relapse Records

The follow up to 2012’s Harmonicraft sees Torche bringing another slab of their uniquely pop-infused drone rock.

It’s a combination that almost shouldn’t work- heavy, sludgy guitars in major keys with some beautifully harmonised vocals, but it’s a distinctive and brilliantly disconcerting listen that is equal parts beautiful melancholy mixed with their native Floridian sunshine.

Tracks such as 'Loose Men' provide a welcome increase in BPM to almost punk levels, ensuring the album is varied and richly rewards repeat listens as new textures reveal themselves underneath the surface. This is a band that deserves your attention.
