Take That's Gary Barlow to write Calendar Girls musicals
Take That mainman Gary Barlow has signed up to write a new musical based on the hit play and film Calendar Girls.
Barlow has teamed up with tourist agency Welcome To Yorkshire to write the musical, which will tell the story of 11 members of the Women's Institute in Rylstone, North Yorkshire, who posed nude for a charity calendar in 1999.
Speaking to BBC News, Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome To Yorkshire, said: "To have someone of Gary Barlow's calibre working on a Yorkshire musical is amazing and I am sure, like the Calendar Girls film and the stage play, this musical will be a huge success."
Take That released their latest album III in December of last year, an album you can preview on the right-hand side of the page.
The band will undertake an extensive arena tour this summer, playing over 40 dates across the UK. To purchase tickets and check out all the tour dates, click here.
