The 1975 named as the hardest working band of 2014

The 1975 have been named as the hardest working band of 2014.

The Manchester foursome have had a gruelling year, playing a total of 195 shows in 29 countries, according to music data website Songkick

During this year the band have travelled a whopping 249,724 kilometres and averaged a show every 1.8 days.

The band said about the revelation: "Touring this past year has been a really humbling experience. Our album was pretty much the story of the last decade of our lives, to see so many people around the world connecting with it has been incredible. We are very proud of our fans, they really understand what we are doing and the shows are an extension of that feeling."

Future Islands were named as the second most hard working, with New Politics, Against Me! and St Vincent also in the top five.

The 1975 are currently working on the follow-up to their 2013 debut album (which you can preview on the right of the page), which is expected to be released in 2015.
