The Libertines set to headline T in the Park
Following the announcement at the end of last year that The Libertines will be reforming and making a new album, the band have now been confirmed as one of the headliners at this year's T in the Park festival. The band are the first headliners to be confirmed for this year's line-up at the Scottish festival, set to take place July 10-12.
The festival also has a new home this year and for the first time will be held at Strathallan Castle. Tickets for the event are due to go on sale at 9:00am on February 27th. Geoff Ellis, the festival's director, said in a statement: "The Libertines are a truly iconic British band, revered as cult heroes by a generation of music fans and adored by the Scottish crowd.”
The band's new album will, according to frontman Pete Doherty, be recorded at Karma Studios in Thailand. You can find our preview on the upcoming album here.
Meanwhile, Carl Barat has also been busy with his other band, The Jackals, who are due to release their new album, Let it Reign, on February 16th. They will also be performing live and signing copies of the new LP for fans at 363 Oxford Street on the same day. More info on the event can be found here.
