The Prodigy's Keith Flint dies aged 49
The Prodigy singer Keith Flint has died.
Flint (pictured centrally above), who was 49, was found dead at his home in Dunmow, Essex by police this morning (March 4th). He took his own life.
In a statement, Essex police said: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday. We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene."
They continued: "His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
The band have paid tribute to Flint, writing: "It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed."
Flint joined The Prodigy alongside Liam Howlett and MC Maxim Reality back in 1990. Originally a dancer, he became the band's singer after recording vocals for hit single 'Firestarter' in 1996.
He remained with the group for the next 29 years, recording five albums, including 2018's No Tourists.
The band have sold over 30 million records and headlined festivals all over the world.
