The Strokes to headline Hyde Park in their only UK festival appearance of 2015
The Strokes are to headline this summer's British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
The New Yorkers will headline the park on June 18th this summer, playing on top of a support bill that also includes Beck, Future Islands, Temples, Public Service Broadcasting, The Wytches, Hinds, Gengahr, Yak, and Kieran Leonard. It will be The Strokes' only UK festival appearance this year.
Announcing the gig, The Strokes said: "It may seem a ways away but summer's still happening this year and we wanted to let you know The Strokes are planning another trip for another show, this time in London's Hyde Park on Thursday June 18. And if that wasn't enough for us to be all excited about we're also stoked to tell you that Beck and Future Islands will be joining us on the day, which is pretty-freaking-awesome."
The Strokes join Blur, Kylie Minogue, Taylor Swift and The Who in headlining the event, which will take place across the last days of June this summer. Blur will headline the park on June 20th with support from Metronomy, The Horrors and more, Minogue headlines the event on June 21st, with support from Grace Jones and Chic with Nile Rodgers, The Who will headline the park on June 26th, with support from Paul Weller, Johnny Marr and the Kaiser Chiefs, while Swift tops the bill on the 27th with support from Ellie Goulding and John Newman.
The likes of Arcade Fire, The Libertines, McBusted and Neil Young all headlined the event last year.
