This Week's New Albums: December 1st 2017
U2, Neil Young, Gwen Stefani and Chris Stapleton are among the artists with new albums out this week.
U2 - Songs of Experience
It was widely expected that the Irish stadium fillers would deliver a quick follow-up to 2014’s Songs Of Innocence, but the election of Donald Trump and the UK’s decision to leave the European Union put paid to that.
So, three years later, their 14th studio album arrives, complete with an array of production talent. On duty this time are Jacknife Lee, Ryan Tedder, Steve Lillywhite, Andy Barlow and Jolyon Thomas.
Written in the aftermath of frontman Bono’s bike accident, an accident so severe that it left him unable to play guitar for a year, the album sees the band trying to make sense of life’s biggest issues as well as the world’s turbulent political climate. There’s a lot going on, that’s for sure...
Gwen Stefani - You Make It Feel Like Christmas
The No Doubt singer gets festive for the first time on record with the release of this new Christmas album.
Stefani has covered six-holiday classics, including Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’, ‘Silent Night’ and ‘Santa Baby’ as well as including five new originals and a duet with partner Blake Shelton.
Miguel - War & Leisure
The soulful singer follows up 2015’s hugely acclaimed Wildheart with a politically charged new LP.
Travis Scott, J. Cole and Salaam Remi are among the guests, with hit singles ‘Sky Walker’ and ‘Told You So’ among the 12 tracks that feature.

The album also includes the epic track ‘Children Of Destiny, which was recorded at California's famed Capitol Studios alongside Promise of the Real and a 56-piece orchestra.
